Wave is a location-sharing app that lets users share their whereabouts with friends or groups for a limited time. Users can send or accept location requests with adjustable durations. This creates a private map where every member can see each other's location, set meeting points, share messages and pictures, and plan routes together.

Creating a cohesive visual connection that seamlessly blends the app's name with its functionality. Wave's new symbol depicts an entangled route intertwining to form the letter W, while drawing a point-of-interest icon at its center.

Wave's art direction embraces an abstract geometric approach, creating a modern and visually engaging experience. By incorporating imagery that reflects real-world use cases, the app fosters a sense of relatability and intuitiveness for users.

The advancements that this new version of Wave introduces (such as route options, dynamic ETAs or battery and signal levels), required a complete overhaul of the UI and UX in order to ensure a seamless and intuitive user journey.
Wave 3.0 keeps things simple with a single-screen interface. All contacts and groups with whom the user is sharing their location appear on a unified map. Then, users can tap on any one of those contacts to access an isolated map instance for that specific contact or group.
